St Philip's Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC).

The ELCIC Mission Statement says:

The mission of this church, as an expression of the universal Church and as an instrument of the Holy Spirit, is to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people in Canada and around the world through the proclamation of the Word, the administration of the Sacraments and through service in Christ's name.1

The ELCIC is broken into three major "divisions": nationally (ELCIC), regionally (synods, divided into conferences) and locally (congregations). Each has its own unique ministries, but all work together, sharing goals and ministries to serve the community and God's call.
