In Mission for Others

We are listening to the Holy Spirit's guidance for our mission at St. Philip's.  Over the past year, through Dwelling in the Word, "Know our 'hood", and Agape Meals, we explored our mission in the world, as individuals and as a congregation.  We are seeking to be In Mission for Others.

Helping in the Community

It's time to fill the cart again! There are opportunities to help others through programs we support throughout the year.  Things like:

  • Out of the Cold -- providing the ingredients and making bagged lunches and a hot meal and collecting socks
  • St. James Food Basket -- collect food for and volunteer time at the local food bank
  • Evangel Hall -- prepare and serve a hot meal
  • Fill the Cart -- during Lent we fill the shopping cart for St. James Food Basket
  • Mitten Tree -- collect mittens, hats, scarves, and slippers for those in need in winter
  • Christmas Families -- each year we provide a hand-up for 4-6 families by finding out their needs and wishes and meeting them through new and gently used items, gifts, food, and grocery vouchers.
